Privacy Policy for Fast VPN
This Privacy Policy applies to Fast VPN, Android package com.rs.vpn. It explains which permissions the app uses, why those permissions are required, which VPN protocols are supported, how advertising works, and how data may be used when the app is installed or used.
1. Scope
This policy covers the Fast VPN Android application. It is intended for end users, platform reviewers, and distribution partners, including Google Play reviewers. It describes app-level behavior based on the current app implementation.
2. What the app does
Fast VPN is a multi-protocol VPN client for Android. It can establish VPN or proxy-style connections using supported tunnel technologies and server configurations supplied inside the app or delivered through remote configuration updates.
3. Permissions used and why they are used
| Permission | Why it is used |
|---|---|
android.permission.INTERNET |
Required to create VPN connections, communicate with servers, fetch remote configuration or update data, call account APIs when configured, and load ads. |
android.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Used to detect whether the device currently has network connectivity and to adjust connection behavior accordingly. |
android.permission.CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE |
Used for VPN-related network state handling during connection setup and transport changes. |
android.permission.ACCESS_WIFI_STATE |
Used to understand Wi-Fi connectivity state, which can affect tunnel setup and routing behavior. |
android.permission.WAKE_LOCK |
Used to help keep critical connection work active while a VPN session is being established or maintained. |
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE |
Required so the app can keep the VPN service running as a foreground service while the connection is active. |
android.permission.FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE |
Used for Android’s VPN-related foreground service classification and continuous VPN operation. |
android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS |
Required on newer Android versions so the app can show service notifications needed for foreground VPN operation and related status updates. |
Fast VPN does not request permissions for contacts, microphone, camera, SMS, precise location, or photo library access in the current Android manifest.
4. VPN permission and user consent
Android requires explicit user consent before a VPN session can be established through the system VPN framework. Fast VPN uses Android’s VPN service APIs for supported connection modes, and the operating system presents the consent dialog when required.
5. Supported protocols
The app currently supports these main connection types:
- OpenVPN
- SSH Tunnel
- SlowDNS / DNS Tunnel
- V2Ray / Xray
- UDP Hysteria
Within the V2Ray/Xray stack, the app supports multiple configuration modes, including Normal, CDN, SSL, and XHTTP. Depending on the imported or configured link, V2Ray/Xray connections may include formats such as VMess, VLESS, Trojan, and supported V2Ray/Xray-compatible profiles.
6. Information the app may process
- User-provided connection data: server links, server profiles, payloads, usernames, passwords, and similar connection details entered or imported by the user.
- Local settings and preferences: app settings, selected server data, selected payload data, protocol choices, and UI preferences may be stored locally on the device.
- App-scoped device identifier: the app can generate its own local app-scoped identifier and send it, along with basic device model information, to a remote account API when a server or account validation flow requires device-based account checking.
- Remote config data: the app can download remote configuration or update data from configured URLs in order to refresh server or payload information.
- Connection and operational data: bytes transferred, duration, connection status, error states, and similar runtime metrics may be processed locally for status display and service management.
7. Advertising and AdMob disclosure
Fast VPN includes Google AdMob and currently uses a rewarded ad flow before allowing a VPN connection attempt. This means users may be required to view a rewarded advertisement before the app enables connection.
When Google AdMob serves ads, Google may process data such as device identifiers, advertising ID, IP address, app interaction data, diagnostics, and performance information in accordance with Google’s own privacy terms and ad-serving systems.
For more information, users should review Google’s privacy documentation: Google Privacy Policy and AdMob data and privacy information .
8. VPN traffic and server-side processing
Fast VPN is a VPN client. When a user connects, network traffic may be routed through a VPN or proxy server selected inside the app or delivered through app configuration. As a result, traffic routed through the tunnel may be processed by the server infrastructure that provides the VPN service.
The app itself is only one part of the service chain. The privacy and logging practices of the server operator, network provider, or configuration source can affect how traffic is ultimately handled. Users should only connect to servers and configurations they trust.
9. Local storage and retention
The app stores certain settings and connection data locally on the device so that it can restore
selected server information, payload choices, configuration versions, and other operational
preferences. The Android application manifest also disables automatic app backup by setting
allowBackup="false".
Local data remains on the device until the user clears app data, uninstalls the app, or replaces stored settings through app use.
10. Security
Fast VPN uses supported VPN and proxy technologies to help provide private transport for user traffic, but no app can guarantee absolute security in every environment. Security depends on the selected protocol, the server configuration, the remote endpoint, and the trustworthiness of the underlying VPN service provider.
11. Children’s privacy
Fast VPN is not specifically directed to children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has submitted personal information through the app, use the developer contact details provided on the app’s distribution listing to request review and assistance.
12. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated from time to time to reflect app changes, platform requirements, or ad and configuration changes. The updated version should be published with a new revision date.
13. Contact
Privacy-related requests should be sent through the developer contact details published on the app’s Google Play listing or official distribution channel for Fast VPN.
